Securing air-gapped environments with Elastic on Google Distributed Cloud

Elastic Security is now the embedded security layer for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) air-gapped environments, bringing AI-driven defense to government, defense, finance, and telecom organizations operating fully disconnected from the public internet. The integration unifies SIEM, XDR, and native automation in a single platform, with kernel-level endpoint protection via Elastic Defend, AI-powered attack discovery using on-premises Gemini models, and native workflow automation (replacing standalone SOAR). Key benefits include model sovereignty — AI capabilities run locally without requiring cloud connectivity — and no per-endpoint pricing for Elastic Defend. The announcement follows Elastic's December 2025 SIEM-as-a-Service partnership with CISA for US federal agencies.
