South Korea's National Tax Service accidentally exposed the mnemonic recovery phrase of a seized Ledger cold wallet in a press release photo. The wallet contained approximately $5.6 million in confiscated crypto assets from raids on 124 tax evaders. Shortly after publication, an opportunist used the visible seed phrase to transfer roughly $4.4 million in PRTG tokens to a new address. The agency failed to redact the handwritten recovery phrase visible in the released images.
