Meilisearch Cloud now supports horizontal sharding and replication for enterprise search deployments. Sharding distributes large datasets across multiple nodes to handle data volumes beyond what a single instance can serve, while replication keeps identical copies across nodes for high read availability and geo-distribution. The two features are composable — teams can run sharding only, replication only, or both simultaneously (e.g., 5 shards × 2 replicas = 10 nodes). Currently available as an enterprise add-on configured by the Meilisearch team, with a self-serve UI and improved cluster observability on the roadmap.
