Wing

Wing, a company focused on simplifying cloud application development with its programming language Winglang, has announced its closure. Despite a strong initial community response and over 100 contributors, the company found it challenging to convert this enthusiasm into a sustainable business. After exploring various directions in the cloud space over the past year, the founders decided to shut down the operation. They expressed gratitude to their supporters and reminisced about the journey.

I didn’t even use winglang and this is heartbreaking.

What did this new language had that you could not accomplish using other languages??? I mean, YET ANOTHER LANGUAGE to learn…

Oh Man! I had big hopes for this.

It was promising for sure, the space is sadly littered with „make the cloud easier“ = higher abstraction languages/tools - I stopped keeping track of all those. and at least for big corps I sadly don’t see it catching on. Still, awesome Winglang tried - good effort and nice concept.
