Saved Prompts Are Dead. Agent Skills Are the Future

Saved prompts and slash commands are giving way to a more powerful pattern called Agent Skills. Unlike static prompts, skills include metadata (name, description) that lets AI agents discover and invoke them automatically based on intent, a pattern called progressive disclosure. Skills can also bundle reference docs, templates, and scripts, giving agents tools and context rather than just instructions. The post warns that shared skills carry security risks similar to installing third-party scripts and should be reviewed carefully before use.
