Amazon SageMaker HyperPod task governance now supports idle resource sharing, enabling teams to borrow unallocated compute capacity beyond their guaranteed quotas. The feature automatically identifies idle cluster capacity and makes it available on a best-effort basis, while administrators can configure absolute or percentage-based borrow limits per resource type (accelerators, vCPU, memory). HyperPod monitors cluster state and recalculates borrowable resources dynamically as instances and quota policies change. Available for HyperPod clusters using the EKS orchestrator across 15 AWS regions.
