SAG-AFTRA issues a Do Not Work Order against Capcom for "failing to initiate the signatory process"

SAG-AFTRA has issued a Do Not Work Order against Capcom's upcoming Mega Man: Dual Override after the publisher failed to initiate the union signatory process. Voice actor Ben Diskin, who voiced Mega Man in Mega Man 11, says he was asked to return but only without union contract protections. Capcom offered written AI protections but refused to go union, leaving Diskin unable to enforce any agreement without personally suing the company. Diskin cited the broader industry trend of corporations adopting generative AI and record layoffs as reasons he needs union protection. The order instructs all SAG-AFTRA members to withhold acting services for the production until further notice.
