It’s pointless.
It requires Docker to be installed on both the building and executing devices, so why not use <code>docker run</code> directly?
Also, if you want to share images, you can use <code>docker image save</code> and <code>docker image import</code> (which supports loading from both files and URLs).

Naaah. Userspace container executable without docker installation would be neat.

This sounds like a great idea, I just wish Docker wasn’t required on the executing machine. Docker isn’t the easiest thing to install; on Windows you need virtualization / WSL turned on in some cases or VirtualBox depending on whether you’re running an older home edition of Windows. Even on Linux it’s not always as easy as other apps because the latest and most capable versions of Docker tend to be distributed outside of the snap store and default apt repos in the popular Debian style distros.
If you can install Docker I feel like you’re halfway there as far as pulling and running simple images. If this tool also had the ability to detect your environment and install Docker if it’s missing before you launch everything that’d be an awesome addition!

i mean it requires docker? Seems kind of silly if you already have docker

When virtual memory and file permissions were invented, people saw a future of co-existing programs in the same computer that would not interfere with each other.
It didn’t happen.
So they invented containers, to keep programs apart.
And now comes the next new thing: remove the container aspect, make the program a stand-alone program that, presumably, will not interfere with other programs on the computer.
