If I’m hyped up about anything, it’s trying Redox on bare metal. Not because of it being written in Rust (but a core language that eliminates some issues by itself is a plus), but rather because of its development shaping up nicely in recent months.
That, and kind of being dissapointed at FreeBSD’s wifi support. That being said, we’ll see how this very thing shapes up on Redox, because it might be another dissapointment incoming.
To be fair, I don’t blame the devs of either, as the wifi stacks can be proprietary blobs, a lot of code to port, or basically both. And you need hardware (or people willing to test it with the said hardware - even better, if they can at least troubleshoot it) to do it properly. It’s a lot of effort.
