The Rust team has launched a Rust Debugging Survey to better understand the debugging pain points faced by Rust developers. Debugging is consistently cited as one of the biggest challenges in the Rust ecosystem, with issues spanning multiple debuggers (GDB, LLDB, CDB), operating systems, async code support, and expression evaluation. The survey is anonymous, takes about 5 minutes, and is open until March 13th, 2026. Results will be published on the Rust blog to guide improvements to Rust's debugging infrastructure.
