Canonical and Arm are collaborating to certify the new Arm AGI CPU on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute Raccoon), targeting agentic AI workloads in data centers. The Arm AGI CPU features up to 136 Neoverse V3 cores in a dual-chiplet design, TSMC 3nm manufacturing, 12-channel DDR5 memory with sub-100ns latency, and a 1OU dual-node reference design packing 272 cores per server unit. Ubuntu 26.04 LTS brings Linux kernel 7.0 with 15-year support, first-ever Arm64 kernel livepatching, Rust integration in system components (sudo-rs, coreutils), and hardware-enforced security via MTE. The partnership builds on Canonical's decade-long history of treating Arm as a first-class platform, including day-0 support for cloud Arm instances and native Arm64 support across MAAS, OpenStack, MicroCloud, and Canonical Kubernetes.
