Ruby 4.0 has been released with several notable changes. ZJIT, a new JIT compiler, is now available as an optional feature with potential for higher performance than YJIT. Prism became Ruby's default parser in version 3.4. A pure-Ruby YAML 1.2 parser called Psych::Pure has been created. Multiple Ruby libraries and tools have been updated to support Ruby 4.0, including RBS 3.10, Pry 0.16, sqlite3-ruby 2.9, and ruby.wasm 2.8.
