ROOM 3.0 is Here! 🎉

Room 3.0 has launched as an alpha release with significant breaking changes and new features. The new package (AndroidX Room 3) drops support for legacy SQLite APIs (a wrapper artifact is available), makes all database operations coroutine-based, and requires Kotlin code generation with KSP. The two headline features are JS and WASM-JS platform support — enabling Room to be used for web apps in addition to Android, iOS, and desktop — plus custom DAO return types.
