Rockstar Games launched the Cfx Marketplace on January 12, an official platform for hosting free and paid mods for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer roleplay servers (FiveM and RedM). The marketplace features curated content from selected creators, with premium mods priced up to $389.99. This launch follows a decade-long evolution from Rockstar initially opposing FiveM in 2015 as facilitating piracy, to supporting roleplay servers in 2022, and ultimately acquiring the Cfx.re community team in 2023. The marketplace represents Rockstar's formalized approach to monetizing community-created content while maintaining control over the modding ecosystem.
