Most technical content websites are too lean to effectively communicate complex ideas, largely because Markdown and its ecosystem made it easy to build text-only sites. Drawing on Media Richness Theory, the author argues that richer, more expressive web content is needed for technical topics — and introduces Code Hike as a tool aimed at enabling richer content experiences on the web.
