Rewriting my site in vanilla web

Sometimes I just want to skip all these framework. No nextjs, no React, just plain HTML CSS and JS like the good old days. Turned out it brings back many joy of coding for me XD

I created my own custom SPA Javascript library along with a utility-based CSS library. My CSS library dynamically regenerates all the classes I define, based on a base CSS framework, similar to how Tailwind works. It’s been so much fun building my own library.
My focus is entirely on the browser environment. I’m not a frontend developer by profession, but whenever I do frontend work, I get frustrated with the setup process, especially having to create a NodeJs project just to get started. These days, most popular frontend JS libraries require a Node environment during development, and that feels unnecessarily complex to me.
What I really want is to be able to create a project folder, drop in some code, open it in a text editor, and simply refresh the browser to see the results. That’s the main motivation behind creating my own libraries. Plus, I still believe in the principle of separation of concerns, it just makes development clearer and more maintainable.
