Reputation points are now far more visible on the platform ⚡
Reputation points are the way we visualize and reward meaningful contributions to the daily.dev community. We wanted your reputation points to be more visible so that you could enjoy them more and also to drive recognition and trust from other community members.
If you’re new to daily.dev, we highly recommend learning more about <a href="https://docs.daily.dev/docs/your-profile/reputation" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">how reputation works</a>.
First, we’ve given reputation a brand new icon. You guessed it, it’s a ⚡
So, reputation is now visible in multiple places on the platform:
👤 At the top right near your profile image

We’ve also made an update to how reputation points work. You can now also lose reputation points. On the flip side, to every stick, there is a carrot, you now also gain privileges when accumulating reputation points, read all about it in our <a href="https://docs.daily.dev/docs/your-profile/reputation#:~:text=Reputation%20points%20are%20awarded%20for,points%2C%20ensuring%20fairness%20and%20authenticity." target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">docs</a>.
We do this to ensure people are posting and commenting respectfully while adhering to our guidelines. Please be respectful when you downvote 💜
P.S Reputation points are only affected by upvotes or downvotes from users with over 250 reputation points, ensuring fairness and authenticity.

Also, downvotes aren’t just for posts. From now on, you can now also downvote comments. Remember, only users who have accumulated 250 points can affect others when upvoting and downvoting.

But my question is. how can we get reputation point if we can not post because we don’t have reputation?
