Take-Two Interactive has laid off its head of AI, Luke Dicken, along with multiple members of the AI team including the senior director of AI development, director of AI research, senior manager SRE, and two senior data scientists. Dicken had been building out the AI team at Take-Two for about 15 months after over a decade at Zynga. The layoffs come despite Take-Two leadership publicly championing generative AI as a tool for innovation and efficiency, and amid a financially strong quarter with $1.76 billion in net bookings. The dismissals are attributed to 'shifting priorities from upper management.'
