Minecraft: Java Edition is removing code obfuscation completely, starting with the first snapshot after the Mounts of Mayhem launch. Previously, the game scrambled class and function names to hide source code, requiring modders to decipher the code or use obfuscation mappings released in 2019. The removal of obfuscation means all original names, including variables, will be included by default, making it significantly easier to create, update, and debug mods.
