Remix v3 is abandoning React in favor of a fork of Preact, marking a significant shift in web framework philosophy. The team behind Remix and React Router is pursuing a new direction focused on simplicity, web standards, and AI-first development. After merging Remix features into React Router v7, they're now free to build a completely new framework that owns the full stack without external dependencies. The new approach emphasizes model-first development for AI integration, runtime-focused architecture over compile-time magic, and building closer to web APIs. This represents a fundamental rethinking of how web applications should be built, similar to what Rails did for Ruby but optimized for modern JavaScript and AI workflows.

Remix is ditching React (and I think that's a good thing)
