At MWC 2026, Red Hat announced that several major telecom providers — Telefónica Spain, Telefónica Brazil, Telenor (Finland), Vodafone Oman, and Bell Canada — have adopted Red Hat OpenShift and related platforms to modernize their IT infrastructure. The strategy centers on unifying legacy VM-based workloads and modern cloud-native applications on a single Kubernetes-based platform using KubeVirt, reducing operational complexity and total IT cost. Telenor is also building an NVIDIA-based AI factory on Red Hat platforms. A recent CNCF survey shows 82% of organizations now run Kubernetes in production, underscoring the broader industry momentum.
