Red Hat announces a technology preview of the Red Hat build of Perses integrated into the cluster observability operator 1.4 for OpenShift and Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management consoles. Perses is an open source dashboarding tool with native Kubernetes RBAC support. New features include a dashboard management UI for creating, editing, filtering, and duplicating dashboards directly in the OpenShift console; a Grafana import tool that converts Grafana JSON/YAML dashboards to PersesDashboard resources; datasource configuration for Prometheus, Thanos, Loki, and Tempo via custom resources; and built-in ClusterRoles for fine-grained access control. The post also covers migration paths from Grafana to Perses via UI, CLI (percli), and Go SDK, as well as how to leverage community mixins for prebuilt observability dashboards.
