ReactOS has merged two significant changes: a unified installer image combining the boot and live CD into a single image, and a new PnP-aware ATA storage stack supporting ATA and AHCI devices with NT6+ compatibility. The unified image simplifies testing and installation, and may eventually replace the old text-based installer. The new storage stack improves hardware compatibility beyond what the old UniATA driver offered. Together, these changes bring ReactOS closer to a Windows-like installation and usage experience, making it a good time to test the OS on real hardware.
