React, React Native, and the JSX specification have been transferred from Meta to the newly formed React Foundation, now hosted under LF Projects, LLC — a Linux Foundation subsidiary. The foundation launched at the Linux Foundation Member Summit with eight Platinum founding members including Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, Vercel, and others. Seth Webster serves as executive director. Crucially, React's technical direction remains independent from the foundation's board, with existing maintainers retaining control. The foundation will focus on funding maintainers, education and resources, global accessibility, and managing infrastructure like GitHub, CI, trademarks, and React Conf.
