Dutch healthcare software vendor ChipSoft was hit by a ransomware attack on April 7, 2026, taking its website offline. The company supplies patient record software to roughly 80% of Dutch hospitals. While most hospitals remain operational, 11 have pulled their ChipSoft systems offline. Z-CERT, the Netherlands' healthcare CERT, confirmed the attack and is coordinating with affected institutions. The attacker group has not been identified. Z-CERT is urging hospitals to audit ChipSoft systems for unusual traffic and to develop disaster recovery plans, citing recent ransomware attacks on Belgian and Dutch healthcare facilities as cautionary examples.
