Peter Waldraff of Tiny World Studios built a handcrafted wooden end table featuring a working N-scale model railway layout powered by a hand crank. The table includes detailed scenery with rocks, grass, an epoxy river, and a bridge. A gearmotor generator paired with a bridge rectifier, buck converter, and supercapacitor stores energy from cranking — just 25 seconds of hand cranking powers the Kato Pocket Line trolley for 4–10 minutes, with an optional illuminated tree. The table also includes a coaster spot, making it both a functional piece of furniture and a kinetic sculpture.
