Quickly become a Senior engineer

This isn’t nearly enough - it might be good for a start, but people way too often forget that truly senior engineer needs maturity: both as an engineer and as a person. There are many people who have the title of Senior Engineer, but are missing many important traits of the truly senior engineer. To name a few things that senior engineer does:

<li>mentoring younger members of the team</li>
<li>makes sure that the team is sticking to the process and adjusts the process when it is not suitable for the team.</li>
<li>does research and suggests ways to improve the project or the process itself</li>
<li>participates in technical discussions and is able to recognize good solutions and support them, or present good arguments for his own ideas</li>
<li>realizes the importance of good communication skills (both verbal and written) and the differences in communication style between technical and non-technical people</li>
<li>understands the business (to a certain extent) and gets the “bigger picture”</li>
<li>keeps calm and is able to be the voice of reason in the critical situations</li>
<li>realizes he isn’t the star of team, but allows everyone to do their job better (becomes a force multiplier)</li>
</ul>
You don’t become a senior engineer quickly - I think this is wrong type of advice. You become when you are ready and when your approach is mature enough - for someone it can be quicker and for someone else it might be slower, but there are no shortcuts. You simply have some growing up to do (in every possible way).

The more quicker way is when your senior leaves .

Unfortunately i downvoted this post because of the misleading title. Second the domain is expired and post is not available.
Third, like <a href="https://app.daily.dev/painbringer" data-mention-id="42CTXQp5uNhsKhJ4SVZGD" data-mention-username="painbringer">@painbringer</a> pointed out, there is no quick way of become anything and particularly not a senior Engineer. I’ve been in the software industry for 10 years, and academically followed this career path since highschool.
Recently i’ve seen a lot of posts like this one, and moreover youtube is overcrowded with people that not only overhype this profession but also do not paint the full picture – If it’s too simple to be true, chances are it it’s not true – and i’m really not a big fan of content that does not give the correct information.

this post should be deleted just because of the title. no one becomes a senior quickly.
