I realized I never really said anything publicly, so I figured I’d add a bit of context.
I’ve been helping out as an admin for Developer’s Journey for about a month now. Nothing big or flashy, and honestly, not much has changed, which is intentional.
The main thing I’m trying to do is keep the space feeling the same while making sure posts stay aligned with what people actually come here for. Learning in public, sharing progress, career questions, portfolio work, wins, frustrations, all of that real stuff.
I know a couple of posts haven’t been accepted recently, and I just want to be clear that it’s not about pushing my own content or filtering people out for no reason. The goal is just consistency. If something feels more like a promotion than a shared experience or doesn’t really fit the direction of the space, I’d rather be upfront about that than let things slowly drift over time.
One visible change that some people probably noticed is the category shift from ‘Web’ to ‘Career’.
That wasn’t about moving away from web dev. It was more about widening the lens. A lot of the posts here are about portfolios, job hunting, learning curves, burnout, switching paths, and figuring things out as you go. Career just felt like a better umbrella for that without boxing anyone in.
As for me, I’m still doing the same thing I’ve always been doing here. Posting, learning, building, and working through things in real time. Being an admin just gives me a way to help support the space alongside that.
