Why game development exists if we have to compete against AAA big industry games?
I know this is a very selfish question, but im new around here, and its a thought that has been bothering me.
Like, why should i even try to make a game, if i know theres someone way better at it?

There will always be someone better than you at something, why should that stop you from trying? Make games because you want to make games, make games because you have an idea for something that is not out there yet, or make games to get better in order to compete with AAA studios.
Find inspiration in success stories. Stardew Valley, Animal Well, Minecraft. I am sure you could name a few indie game hits as well.
You can’t learn or compete if you never start! You’ve got this, best of luck!

Dude check what games are being released by AAA studios. AAA is really bad right now.

You know that every person has to give a try if you make a game may be it will become a success but it is not like you are not able to defeat AAAAA big industry if you should make a game with all your efforts and it will become successful I promise

Secondly, if you don’t know in game developement you start from 0 experience that means they didn’t get born knowing C++ and game developement, they were like us normal indie game developers and some were a small ground but after gaining some money from their games they made those industries for game developement.
Also you said “why should i even try to make a game, if i know theres someone way better at it?” Some of the companies HAD good games and now they are making bad junk games with just good graphics but bad textures and so on and so forth.
And if you don’t know YOU can even make a game and if you want to we are here to help anytime and maybe who knows you games will be extremely good to beat those AAA. it’s not impossible!

Not a game developer but I’m passionate about gaming in general and do follow the industry closely.
This is one of the few industries where creativity and personal expression can transcend marketing efforts and propaganda, do not be discouraged by that! Of course with access to a lot of resources (mainly money) things are easier, but it’s not an ultimatum. There’s countless stories of indie game developers that started small with teams of five to one people and have had major success. <a href="https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/the-14-best-games-developed-by-only-one-person/2900-2172/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Case in point!</a>
Gaming is one of the most accessible industries there are currently, with innumerous amounts of resources freely available from coding tutorials to documentation to free and open source tools, most of which can be found on this website btw!
There’s also a factor of motivation. As companies grow in size they tend to be more profit driven since there’s many more expenses to take on, which is not necessarily bad of course, <a href="https://www.sanlo.io/resources/why-game-developers-need-to-maintain-financial-strategic-and-creative-control" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">but historically it has been noted that it does affect creative liberty</a>.
At the end of the day, if you’re passionate about it, truly, it will shine through! Just be consistent and hone your craft! Good luck with your journey, wish you well!
