NanoClaw is a lightweight, open-source AI assistant that runs Claude agents in isolated Linux containers (Docker or Apple Container) for security. Unlike OpenClaw with its ~500k lines of code, NanoClaw is intentionally minimal — one Node.js process, a handful of files — so users can fully understand and customize it. It connects to messaging platforms (WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Signal), supports per-group memory via CLAUDE.md files, scheduled tasks, web access, and agent swarms. Setup and customization are handled entirely through Claude Code rather than config files or installation wizards. Contributors add 'skills' (slash commands that transform a fork) rather than features, keeping the base codebase lean.
