Q*Bird Receives EIC Accelerator Funding for Quantum Secure Communications

Q*Bird, a Dutch quantum secure communications company, secured €7.5M in combined grant and equity funding from the EIC Accelerator to scale its Measurement-Device-Independent Quantum Key Distribution (MDI-QKD) technology across Europe. The funding supports the NEXUS project, which aims to improve hardware efficiency, expand production capacity, and develop orchestration software for multi-operator quantum networks. Q*Bird's Falqon® Series is already deployed in critical infrastructure including the Port of Rotterdam, Madrid's metropolitan network, and cross-border Benelux connections, with plans to advance industrial-scale deployment continent-wide.
