The Python Software Foundation's Diversity & Inclusion Work Group was restructured in 2024 to ensure global representation across seven regions, with 19 active members working on three focused initiatives: creating D&I resources for communities, developing guides for starting local Python groups, and collecting community feedback through surveys. The group holds bimonthly meetings and annual panel discussions at PyCon US, addressing barriers like language-only announcements, inaccessible documentation, and lack of regional representation in Python leadership.
