Python has achieved an 18.04% rating in the Tiobe index for August 2024, becoming the first language to reach this mark since Java in November 2016. Python remains at the top of the index, largely because it's considered the easiest general-purpose language to learn. The Tiobe index, based on various web metrics, saw C++ in second place with 10.04%, followed by C and Java. The rival Pypl index also places Python at number one, measuring popularity by Google searches.
