I’m a total and absolute noob. I’m 50yrs of age come this autumn, and now I got the idea to learn how to code.
I’ve been playing computer games all my life and have always wanted to make my own game, and now in this time of technoligical advancements and LLMs I thought to my self: “Well now is the time!”
I had heard about GoDot Game Engine and figured it to be easy to use with the assistanceI of AI. “You won’t have to write a single line of code” I was promised.
But I quickly learned that I have tlearn how to use the game engine as well. So I started their beginners course “Learn to code from zero to hero”.
It’s was a little bit of a struggle…
I also learned that this beginners course it not for beginners, but requiers previous knowledge and that I should learn Python first.
So now I’m learning Python.
I WILL LEARN THIS!!! I WILL MAKE A GAME!!! I’m not giving up - it’s too much fun!
But I have no-one to talk to about these thing! I have ONE friend who is a bladibla developer by profession, but he only uses C# and HTML so he can only be of so much assistance.
Just wanted to tell my story and give an introduction. Looking for a friendly and helpful community here to bond with.

Really nice small 35 project it’s much better than one big confusing project :) And the best part is you can give to kids who have patience only for a short time, and say 1 project a DAY :D 35 days and you’re good to go :)
It’s 1000% faster compared to those who don’t have the will to start!

Project-based learning is the best way to go. I’ve been studying Python already, but I’m still going yo give these a go because one can never be too familiar with programming basics.
