Anthropic has launched computer use capabilities in Claude Cowork and Claude Code, allowing Claude to control your mouse, keyboard, browser, and screen to complete tasks when no direct tool integration exists. Available in research preview for Claude Pro and Max subscribers on macOS, the feature works alongside Dispatch — a cross-device task assignment feature — enabling users to assign tasks from their phone and have Claude execute them on their desktop. Safeguards include prompt injection detection, permission requests before accessing new apps, and the ability to stop Claude at any time. Anthropic cautions that the feature is early-stage and recommends avoiding sensitive data.
