Claude Code now supports 'channels', a research preview feature that lets you push external events (messages, alerts, webhooks) into a running Claude Code session via MCP server plugins. Supported channels include Telegram and Discord, plus a localhost demo called fakechat. Setup involves installing a Bun-based plugin, launching Claude Code with the --channels flag, and pairing your account via a sender allowlist for security. Team and Enterprise organizations must explicitly enable channels through admin settings. The feature is in research preview, meaning the API may change and only Anthropic-approved plugins are accepted by default.
