A feasibility study demonstrating that vector storage and semantic search can be implemented natively inside OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC) without external vector database dependencies. The architecture uses three layers: C# External Logic for compute-heavy operations (cosine similarity, top-K search), ODC for workflow orchestration, and standard ODC entities for persisting embeddings as JSON arrays. The approach targets governance-restricted environments (healthcare, finance, government) where data residency requirements prohibit external services, rapid prototyping scenarios, and small-scale production with under 10,000 documents. Key trade-offs are acknowledged: not suitable for millions of vectors or high-throughput global search, but viable for bounded document-centric knowledge bases.
