I am surprised that people are still just talking about prompt engineering.
Custom instructions - a miniature custom framework for the AI, is where we should be at right now.
Use the custom instructions to build the foundation for all of your prompts. Set clear and defined rules, that the AI will follow instinctively. This removes the guesswork and the gerrymandering, leaving you free to interact with the AI, without having to wonder if your commands have been interpreted correctly.
I use custom instructions extensively. Some instructions are general, others are specific to the task I am completing. They are a game changer.
