Lichess experienced its longest downtime from 14:54 UTC on the 12th September to 01:33 UTC on the 13th September. The downtime was caused by issues in their main server hosted at an OVH data center. Despite attempts by their team to resolve the issues, physical intervention was required. They are now investigating further failsafes to prevent such incidents in the future, given their limited budget and reliance on part-time volunteers. Unfortunately, lost rating points won't be refunded, but other game setup concerns are being addressed.
