A fully featured SDL3 port to DOS has been submitted as a pull request to the official SDL repository, supporting VESA 1.2 graphics cards and SoundBlaster 1.0 audio. The port uses DJGPP, a modern 32-bit protected mode compiler, rather than legacy tools like Turbo C. The implication is that any SDL-based project could theoretically be ported to DOS with minimal changes.
