A 3-voice polyphonic music driver called PLAY3 for the Sharp PC-E500 pocket computer has been preserved and published on GitHub. Originally published in a Japanese magazine in November 1993, the assembly source code has been reconstructed from scanned articles and verified against actual hardware RAM dumps. The driver extends the machine's BASIC interpreter with a PLAY command, simulating polyphony via time-division sound generation through the device's single piezo buzzer.
