Plex has launched a redesigned Fire TV app with a modern Netflix-like interface featuring faster navigation and improved layout. Alongside the visual refresh, Plex has introduced remote streaming restrictions: server owners now need a Plex Pass ($7/month, $70/year, or $250 lifetime) or visitors must purchase a Remote Watch Pass ($2/month or $20/year) to stream content remotely. The change has frustrated many users, with some migrating to the free open-source alternative Jellyfin.
