A quick tip for configuring Claude Code to play macOS system sounds when it goes idle or requests input. Using Claude's hooks interface, you can add Notification hooks in `.claude/settings.json` that trigger the `afplay` command with built-in macOS audio files for `permission_prompt` and `idle_prompt` events — mimicking a feature from Cursor that helps when juggling multiple Claude sessions.
