Platform Engineering Labs has released a major update to formae, its open-source Infrastructure-as-Code platform, adding full Kubernetes support (including Amazon EKS and Microsoft AKS), native Helm chart integration, and direct .tfvars file compatibility. The update positions formae as a continuously updated infrastructure system-of-record that automatically codifies infrastructure state from live environments rather than relying on static state files. A new Public Hub for community plugins was also launched, offering centralized plugin sharing, build, and test capabilities with a simpler lifecycle management model than traditional IaC tools. The release targets organizations managing large Kubernetes estates across multi-tool ecosystems, aiming to reduce operational drift and migration friction.
