I would not say Platform Engineering is the new DevOps, but it seems to be the only way to steer the ship towards the right direction for people who didn’t got “initiated” into what DevOps really is (I did by our Solutions Architect, who is now a CTO… man, how I miss working with that guy)!
All jokes aside, DevOps is not a role, to begin with. As described in the article, it’s a mindset and a methodology you incorporate into an organization.
Platform Engineering is the activity of architecting, and building a platform - both from an engineering perspective, and process-wise.
DevOps can be used as a base methodology when building a platform but one can also build a platform w/o DevOps.

I understand what the post is saying, but for example, I started as a Python developer, and then I learned about Cloud architecture, and I love that part now I have become a DevOps, I understand that we need to know about code, but the main responsibility is the complete Platform to deploy and make safe an infrastructure
