PHP is considered dead by some, prompting questions about the reasons behind this and the available alternatives.

PHP is dead

This PHP is dead thing has been going for ages, only to notice that whoever was boarding a new train and hopping from language to language ended up burned out or had to change jobs frequently. There is nothing wrong in learning a new language, but doing so because everyone else is leads you to a never ending loop of confusion. I for one, sticked to PHP since day 1 and had no regrets in doing so.
Long live PHP.

PHP is just as lively as Cobol.
Many applications continue to use it, but new devs don’t really want to use it.
