Qutwo, a Helsinki-based quantum-classical orchestration startup founded by Peter Sarlin (who previously sold Silo AI to AMD for $665m), has closed a €25m angel round at a €325m (~$380m) valuation just months after emerging from stealth. The company builds Qutwo OS, a software layer that routes enterprise AI/ML workloads across classical and quantum-inspired environments today, with the intent to connect to real quantum hardware when it matures. Despite having no commercially shipping quantum hardware, Qutwo already has enterprise customers including Zalando and OP Pohjola, and reportedly €20m in future contracts signed at launch. The angel round structure was chosen deliberately to preserve founder control. Key risks include hardware dependency, competition from AWS, Azure, and Google, and the pace of scaling.
