Suggestions to become a better software developer: focus on building a strong foundation, learn data structures and algorithms, improve communication and writing skills, solve problems on LeetCode and HackerRank, be active on LinkedIn, enhance frontend skills, create a new portfolio, invest in courses and books, prioritize consistency and discipline.

I massively disagree with these two steps. Please don’t become one of those LinkedIn lunatics, there are already too many of you. Also, LeetCode and HackerRank should not be your focus if you want to become a better developer. It can help you land new jobs, sure, but in reality won’t make you a better dev, and you should spend that time focusing on other ways to improve your coding skills.

These are a generally good steps , maybe add this advice I have received from a lot of good software engineers , &quot; focus on concepts not on trends or specific languages they come and go… , be adaptive &quot; , other than that i wish you all the success in your career.

Focus on building projects 🙂 building actual software is the best way to improve.

As a new developer and almost at the same place as you are, I found the article very motivating, sometimes the way isn’t very clear (it never really is) and of course those steps aren’t perfect as some comments here said, and there might be better ones, apart from the fact that everyone learns different and at different paces, but I’d really like to thank you for that reading, and I also wanted to tell you that this reading indeed WAS really helpful.
