Perplexity’s Comet is the AI browser Google wants

Perplexity launched Comet, an AI-powered browser that can autonomously perform web tasks like sending emails, making purchases, and managing subscriptions. Available to Perplexity Max subscribers, Comet replaces traditional search with AI-generated answers and includes an assistant that can control browser actions when prompted with 'take control of my browser.' While it successfully completed complex tasks like Amazon purchases and restaurant reservations, it often takes longer than manual completion and has higher failure rates for complicated actions.
