The U.S. Department of Defense has signed AI deployment agreements with Nvidia, Microsoft, AWS, and Reflection AI, allowing their AI technologies to operate on classified networks at Impact Level 6 and IL7 security classifications. This follows earlier deals with Google, SpaceX, and OpenAI, and is part of the Pentagon's strategy to diversify AI vendors after a legal dispute with Anthropic over unrestricted use of its models. Over 1.3 million DoD personnel already use GenAI.mil, a secure generative AI platform for non-classified tasks.
